When the farm runs on notebooks and phone calls
Harvest weights are written in a notebook in the field and typed into a spreadsheet days later. Nobody can say which lot went to which customer. Growers call to ask when they will be paid, and the answer depends on who picks up the phone.
Seed, fertiliser and pesticide stock is counted twice a year, and some of it turns up past its date. The tractor gets serviced when it breaks down.
In Odoo each harvest, purchase and delivery is a record with a lot number, so you can follow produce from the field to the invoice, and the accounts update as goods move.
How Odoo handles it
Odoo has no farm app in its standard set. We build the setup from Inventory, Purchase, Maintenance and Accounting, and add custom fields or modules only where your operation needs them.
Harvests by lot
Each harvest is received into stock with a lot number, weight and date. If produce is sorted or packed, a manufacturing order turns the raw harvest into graded or packed products.
Purchases from growers
Each grower is a vendor with their own purchase orders, agreed prices and bills, and you can see what you owe each one at any time.
Inputs with expiry dates
Seed, fertiliser and chemicals tracked by lot with expiry dates, and Odoo picks the lot that expires first when stock goes out.
Traceability
From any lot, Odoo shows where it came from and which deliveries and customers it went to.
Equipment and vehicles
Tractors, pumps and vehicles registered in Maintenance and Fleet, with preventive maintenance scheduled by date and a history of repairs and costs.
Costs per farm or crop
Analytic accounts per farm, field or season, so purchases, labour and sales add up to a margin for each one.

Questions from farms and agri-traders
Does Odoo have a farm management app?
Not in the standard apps. Farms run on Inventory, Purchase, Maintenance and Accounting, set up for harvests and growers. If you need plots, crops or seasons tracked, we add custom fields or a custom module.
Can we trace a lot back to the field it came from?
Yes, if each harvest is received with a lot number and the field is recorded on it. Odoo then shows every delivery that lot went into.
Can staff record harvests in the field?
Odoo runs in a phone or tablet browser, so a supervisor can record a harvest receipt where it happens, as long as there is a connection.
We buy from many small growers. Can Odoo handle that?
Yes. Each grower has their own purchase orders, bills and payment history, and the balance owed to each one is always up to date.
Does it work in Arabic?
Yes. Odoo runs in Arabic and English, and each user picks their own language.
