Odoo for retail: shops, stock and online sales in one system

Point of Sale in every branch, stock per shop, loyalty programmes and an online store that sells from the same stock.

When every branch keeps its own numbers

Each shop closes the day on its own till and sends the totals at night. Head office sees sales a day late and stock a week late. The website says an item is in stock, but the branch sold the last one that morning.

Loyalty points work in one shop and not the next. Transfers between branches are agreed by phone and never make it into the system.

With Odoo Point of Sale, every sale in every branch updates stock and accounting as it happens, and the online store reads the same stock. Mazad Misr is one of our published Odoo references in retail.

How Odoo handles it

None of this needs custom code. We set it up for your branches, products and staff.

  • Point of Sale per branch

Each shop gets its own Point of Sale with its own stock location, payment methods and receipt, running in a browser on a tablet, PC or touch screen.

  • Keeps selling offline

If the internet drops, the till keeps taking orders and sends them to Odoo when the connection comes back.

  • Stock per shop

Stock per branch and warehouse, transfers between them recorded, and reordering rules that refill each shop.

  • Sessions and cash control

Each till session is opened and closed in Odoo, counted cash is compared with expected cash, and the difference is posted to accounting.

  • Loyalty, gift cards and promotions

Loyalty points, coupons, gift cards and discount programmes that work in every branch and in the online store.

  • eCommerce on the same stock

An Odoo online store that shares products, prices and stock with the shops, so a sale in one channel is visible in the other.

  • One customer record

Customers identified at the till, so their purchases, points and invoices sit on one record shared with sales and CRM.

Questions from retailers

Can Odoo Point of Sale run in several branches?

Yes. Each branch gets its own Point of Sale and stock location, and head office sees all of them in one database.

What happens if the internet goes down in a shop?

The till keeps selling. Orders are stored on the device and sent to Odoo when the connection returns.

What hardware do we need?

Odoo Point of Sale runs in a web browser, so a tablet, PC or touch screen works. Receipt printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers and scales can be connected. We check the hardware you already have before you buy anything new.

We already sell on BigCommerce. Do we have to switch to Odoo eCommerce?

No. Kites is a BigCommerce partner, and a BigCommerce store can be connected to Odoo so orders and stock stay in step. We’ll compare both options with you.

Can the tills work in Arabic?

Yes. Odoo runs in Arabic and English, and the Point of Sale screens and receipts can be set up in either.
