Who an Odoo implementation suits
Odoo fits companies that have outgrown spreadsheets and separate tools: a sales app here, a stock sheet there, an accounting package that someone updates by hand at the end of the month. It puts sales, purchasing, stock, accounting and HR on one database, so a confirmed order updates the warehouse, the invoice and the customer record at the same time.
We see it work well for a trading or distribution business with several warehouses, a manufacturer that needs bills of materials and costing, a retailer with branches and a service company that bills by the hour. Our first conversation with you is about how you work today. We talk about software later.
If you already run Odoo and want to change it, see Odoo customisation or migration and upgrades.
What the implementation covers
Discovery
We sit with the people who sell, buy, store and account, and write down how each process runs today and where it breaks.
Configuration
We set up your companies, warehouses, products, price lists, taxes, chart of accounts, approval steps and user access to match how you work.
Data import
Products, customers, suppliers, opening balances and open documents, cleaned and imported from spreadsheets or your current system.
Testing
Your team runs real scenarios in a test database: a sale from quotation to payment, a purchase from request to vendor bill, a stock count.
Training
Each team learns on its own screens with its own data, in Arabic or English, before the switch.
Go-live
We agree the cut-over date with you, load the final balances and stay close through the first weeks and the first month-end close.
Custom modules and integrations are planned in the same project when you need them. See customisation and integrations.
How we run an Odoo implementation
The same five steps on every project. The fit-gap plan in step two gives you the dates.
Discovery
We map how you sell, buy, stock and account today, and where it breaks.
What you receiveA written picture of your current processes and the problems to fix.Fit-gap and plan
What Odoo does out of the box, what needs configuring, what needs custom code, and in what order.
What you receiveA written estimate broken down by phase, and a plan with dates.Configure and build
We set up the apps and write the custom modules and integrations.
What you receiveA test database your team can try with real scenarios.Migrate and train
We move your products, customers, balances and open documents, then train each team on its own screens.
What you receiveYour data in Odoo and teams who have used it before day one.Go live and support
We stay with you through the first month-end closings, then keep adjusting the system as you use it.
What you receiveA live system and a team to call when questions come up.
Apps most implementations start with
All of them share one database. We switch on the ones your processes need.
Sales
Quotations and sales orders that drive delivery and invoicing.
CRM
Every lead and follow-up in one pipeline.
Inventory
Stock by warehouse, location and lot, updated with every sale and delivery.
Purchase
Requests for quotation, purchase orders and vendor bills in one flow.
Accounting
Invoices, payments and bank reconciliation posted from the documents that caused them.
Manufacturing
Bills of materials, work orders and costs per finished product.
Point of Sale
Shop and branch sales that update stock and accounting as they happen.
eCommerce
An online store that shares products, prices and stock with the back office.
Website
Your company website, edited in Odoo and connected to sales and CRM.
Employees
One record per person: contract, department and documents.
Time Off
Leave requests and approvals with balances everyone can see.
Expenses
Receipts snapped on a phone, approved and reimbursed through accounting.
Project
Tasks, timesheets and deadlines for each project.
Email Marketing
Campaigns sent to CRM contacts, with opens and clicks tracked.
You can add apps later without starting again. Many companies begin with sales, purchase, inventory and accounting and add the rest once those run well.
All at once or in phases
Both work. Pick based on how many departments are involved and how much change your team can absorb at once.
One go-live
Every app you need switches on the same day.
- One cut-over and one set of opening balances
- No temporary links between old and new systems
- Needs more training and testing before the date
In phases
Core apps first, the rest in later phases.
- Smaller changes for each team at a time
- Earlier results from the first phase
- Some processes run on the old tools for a while
We recommend one approach in the fit-gap plan, once we know your departments and dates.
Questions about Odoo implementation
How much does an Odoo implementation cost?
It depends on how many apps and users you need and how much custom work is involved. After a free discovery call we send a written estimate broken down by phase.
How long does it take?
A small company using a few standard apps can go live in weeks. Manufacturing, multiple companies or heavy customisation take longer. The plan from the fit-gap stage gives you dates.
How much of our team’s time will it need?
Someone who knows each process has to join discovery, check the test database and attend training. We agree who and when in the plan, so it fits around your normal work.
Should we choose Community or Enterprise?
Community is free and open source. Enterprise is a paid subscription with extra apps, including full accounting, and upgrades from Odoo. We recommend one after discovery. See the comparison on our Odoo ERP page.
Can Odoo run in Arabic?
Yes. Odoo runs in Arabic and English, and each user picks their own language. Printed documents such as invoices can be set up in either language or both.
What happens after go-live?
We stay through the first closings, then move to support and training for questions, fixes, new users and upgrades.
